Our excursions:
Day 1 – “Starting my unique adventure on the Amazon”
- Arrival- We are going to pick you up at Iquitos airport or from your Iquitos Hotel at 10:00 am by one of our professional and friendly naturalist guide that is only dedicated on you.
- Driving on the road – For an hour and a half you are going to enjoy the panorama of Iquitos-Nauta Road in a private car passing by different small villages along the road.
- Main port – Get on board of our private boat, from San Juaquin de Omaguas and travel along the longest River in the world Amazonas for an hour and half to reach our lodge.
- Arrive at Amazon Jungle Expeditions lodge and be welcomed by a local tropical fruit juice while the guide explain you about the accommodation and depending on time the lunch may be served.
- Afternoon Jungle Walk your first interaction with the primary forest full of tall trees looking for wildlife, such as monkey, birds, and other animals you can spot along the local trail.
- Dinner time at the lodge, you will have the chance to taste our awesome and healthy food.
- Night Skiff Ride to Sapote and Muena lakes, to see nocturnal animals such us caimans, frogs, fishing bats, night Herons, common and Great potoo even pygmy owl and other creatures.
- Restful Sleep to recover from your long trip in our comfortable Bungalow enjoying the jungle symphony.
Day 2 – Full Activity
- Breakfast at the lodge
- Skiff Ride along the Yanayacu River to see several of our over 600 species of birds in the area such as hawks, herons, macaws, parrots and River Pink Dolphins, and optional swimming on the Amazon River.
- Lunch at the lodge
- Exploration by skiff towards Ayacucho Tipishca searching for wildlife short Walk to search for Hoatzin, known as the Pre Historic bird.
- Dinne at the lodge
- Night Hiking Excursion to see nocturnal animals such as snakes, tree frogs, night monkeys and enjoy the night symphony of the rainforest.
- Restful Sleep in our confutable Bungalow to recover your energy.
Day 3 – Deep in to the jungle
- Breakfast at the lodge.
- From the skiff you will have the chance to experience and immortalize this unique moment doing Piranha Fishing in one of the 7 lakes in the area at the same time you will enjoy the symphony of the rainforest and wildlife around the lake.
- Lunch at the lodge.
- Skiff ride expeditions down stream of Yanayacu River and short walk to see the Victoria Amazonica consider the world’s largest lily pads, on the way back you may visit the local community San Juan de Yanayacu.
Day 4 – Lets Discover New Species of wildlife
- Breakfast at the lodge.
- Expedition by skiff searching for wildlife plus jungle walk looking for new animals, such as monkeys, giant river otter, caimans and birds.
- Lunch
- Village visit to interacting with local people, canoeing in this amazing diversified ecosystem along the Muena lake optional swimming in Yanayacu black water River.
- Amazonian Dinner at the lodge.
- Night Skiff Excursion searching for Amazon tree boa, caiman, capybara (the world´s largest rodent) bats, nocturnal birds and get the chance to enjoy the Jungle symphony and
- Head to bed. You deserve a great restful sleep.
Depend on the weather condition your naturalist Guide will schedule the right activities for you.
Day 5 – Your last adventure
- Breakfast at the lodge.
- We recommend to make sure, you are packed and ready for departure.
- Deep Boat ride along Yanayacu River named after its black water color, searching for Squirrel Monkeys, Howler monkeys, Capuchins, Saki Monkeys, and other species of wildlife such as Horned Screamer, Wattled Jacanas, Cocoi Heron on your way.
- Lunch at the lodge, Depending of your flight.
- Departure time and get one very last goodbye our staff by which they have been part of this wonderful and memorable experience along with you.
- Head back to Iquitos City on your way back along the Yanayacu and the Amazon River you may have a sendoff by different wildlife such as birds, pink and gray river dolphins and local people.
